So if you are struggling with back pain, tilt your chair, it provides immediate health relief.
How tilting mechanism works ?
Before seeing how to tilt an office chair, let’s get familiar with some of its terms which helps you to understand the tilting mechanism.
Is all the way long, you must wonder what is tilting? So let’s know about tilting & its related terms. Tilting is a process that enables you to move your office chair, to & fro or back & forth. This movement process is accomplished with the help of a knob.
The tilt tension adjustment knob is a part of the chair that provides tensions to the tilt. It increased or decreased the tension needed for tilting. The amount of tension applied depends on the weight & height of the person.
A person with a heavyweight needed more tension as compared to a lightweight person. And if the wrong tension is applied, it causes overwhelming back pain & severe damage. Therefore, you must apply the right tension.
The other part is the ‘backrest’, which is the back of the chair that supports your back against the chair. There’s a ‘seat pan’ which is the part on which you sit. There is a lever lock residing beneath the seat pan. It has tapering ends. By using this lever lock, one can adjust the heights, up & down & can lock the chair at a desirable position.
How to Adjust Office Chair Tilt: Step By step guide
As of now, we know much about what exactly a tilt is, its importance & its effect. Now let’s finally understand how to adjust office chair tilt? To adjust the office chair tilt, one has to follow the below-listed steps:
Firstly, sit comfortably on your chair. Your legs must touch the floor. And your thighs must roughly parallel to the floor. Now place your back against the backrest. Keep some space between the seat pan & your knees. It prevents your knee from hurting.
To raise the seat, lift your weight from the chair, now pull the lever right side up & release it at desirable heights. To lower the seat, sit on the chair & pull the lever up & release it.
Now adjust the tilt tension by using the tilt tension adjustment knob. To loosen the tilt, turn the knob clockwise & to tighten the tilt, turn the knob anticlockwise. Keep turning the knob until you get the desirable tension-free chair according to your body weight.
After you get the perfect tension-free chair, and if you want to fix the chair in a fixed position, lock the tilt. Push the lever lock & flip it forward to unlock the chair. At a comfortable position, push it back to lock it & release the lever.
Now you can adjust your office chair as you desire. You only need to change the arrangements according to your comfort. So take care of your back & increase your productivity simultaneously.
